"There are a few key elements to the messy updo that is so popular right now. You saw them on the Academy Awards this year, celebrities all dolled up with their messy up-do's that looked so care-fee and easy. To dispel the myth, they are not super difficult to do however are not as "tossed" up as they appear.

1. First step is to hot roll the hair, spray the curls well and then tease the whole head. 

2. Using your fingers, gather up the hair while twisting and start pinning. Once the bun part is secure use a pick to smooth out the sides and crown to where  you want it.

3. Spray! 
tip: you would definitely want to practice this before the big day. Don't over work the hair and try to keep it from looking too contrived."
