The livelier the better - says Miss Bliss - when it comes to getting the party started at your wedding reception. And what easier way to get the crowd going than with the help of your DJ. Ryan Lee, DJ at Astounding Sounds in Dallas - has a few pointers for creating an enjoyable, interactive and most importantly - FUN & entertaining evening.

Anyone can google the "top father daughter dance songs". It is certainly all personal preference as to the songs you like. If you rely on a Dj to choose your songs you will unfortunatly get what Here is some useful information that most of my clients don't know or haven't thought about until we have educated them.
The best advice that i can give to couples is to rehearse. Have your dj give you your chosen songs on a cd a couple weeks prior to the reception. Maybe even have him out to the rehearsal dinner and run through the reception briefly. For example for the reception entrances of the bridal party, i enjoy when the bridesmaids and groomsmen are paired up. Each pair walks in to a song that they can animate, props always help too. for example a couple can walk into to "margaritaville" by Jimmy buffet and they can wear flip flops, straw hats and colored leis. Another couple maybe walk in to the college fight song the whole group attended sporting school hats and carrying a school flag. These are some ideas that are really exciting and set the tone for a fun party from the moment the wedding party walks in. In order to successfully execute effectively any event during the reception (father daughter dance, garter toss, bouquet toss, cake cutting) I can't stress on how important it is to rehearse.
A couple of fun ideas... No matter what your style (are you and your man the hopeless romantic types, or do you love to be the center of attention? There's something for everyone - you just have to be creative and take into account your personalities!
* Entrance One: Walking sweetly hand in hand while Etta James's "At Last" plays.
* Entrance Two: The couple sashays in to "Happy Together".
* Entrance Three: The couple grooves in to "One Time" by Justin Bieber.
