"Something blue" is about to get THAT much more stylish with one of this winter's hot wedding color combos: brown and blue. Check out BHLDN's fabulous new Broccato d'Orsays from Bettye Muller Designs. The perfect combination of ladylike and glam, they might just be the perfect peep-toe.

Rancho Mirando offers a dream-like, rustic, charming ambiance and breath-taking views - the perfect complement to any Texas wedding. This hidden gem is nestled in the Texas Hill Country in between Austin and San Antonio. One such bride, Jessica Currie, attests to its rugged, but classic beauty, and the warm hospitality of the staff, making for her own dream wedding:
We had a saying “I love you from the East to the West,” and having families from East Texas to West Texas, it was only fitting that we met in the middle to plan our special day.
We didn’t want the traditional. We wanted the unexpected. We didn’t want a showcase wedding. We wanted a wedding that showcased our personalities. We didn’t want a venue that needed to be decorated. We wanted a venue that was beautiful in itself; a reflection of our personalities and relationship. A hidden gem is what we found in the Rancho Mirando. The views were impeccable, the location was ideal, and the organic, natural beauty found on the grounds was breathtaking. We didn’t need lighting effects, or over the top centerpieces; the ambiance was already set.

We are delighted to once again present Texas-based wedding planner and superstar, Donnie Brown, Donnie Brown Weddings and Events, in his third of many upcoming, monthly contributing columns. You may know him from the popular TV show, “Whose Wedding is it Anyway?”
Well-known for his direct and vivacious personality, he is sure to keep us in stitches with his humorous opinions and sometimes, unbelievable tales from his experiences as a planner over the years. In addition, he will keep readers up-to-date on the latest bridal trends and “must haves.”
Here, in his next column, Donnie takes us on a side-splitting-'til-tears-stream-down-your-face checklist of what a bridezilla looks like. What's even more hilarious (or scary) is that I bet some of you have seen brides do this:
You know you are a bridezilla if.........
The Dallas Bridal Show this past weekend was bustling and humming with hundreds eager brides flanked by either an entourage of their bridesmaids, moms or fiances. The hundreds of wedding professionals were no less eager to answer questions and help these ladies navigate through the wedding prep frenzy. On both Saturday and Sunday there were bridal fashion shows, while door prizes were announced throughout the day. Even the grooms-to-be got involved with a cake decorating contest towards the end of the day.
The Texas Wedding Guide was proud to once again sponsor this event, to meet new wedding professionals and brides, and to catch up with our partners. A big "thank you!" to Lilands Special Events for furnishing our booth; to Dallas Drape & Lighting for providing the drapery and lights; and Donnie Brown Weddings & Events for the floral arrangements. Also, a "thank you" to all the sponsors and vendors at the summer Dallas Bridal Show. Here are the fantastic booths our partners put together:

Have you ever wondered what might happen if your blood sugar bottomed out due to the stress of the wedding day? What about if you broke a nail, or your shoe heel, or even the zipper on your gown? It happens. Weddings and “Murphy’s Law” are synonymous and must be considered carefully when preparing for your big day. If you have hired a wedding planner, they are likely to have most anything you might need, just in case. If you are going it alone, remember that preparations are key to a successful wedding day. Be ready for any issue that might and probably will arise.

It's almost as big as your big day and it's coming into town (hint: it's NOT Santa Claus) this summer, July 28 - 29 at Dallas Market Hall: the Dallas Bridal Show. If you're lacking inspiration or having a hard time finding good vendors, be sure to grab your girls (bridesmaids) and make a fun day of it. Word to the wise, don't take your fiance with you, unless he absolutely wants to go. Trust me on this one. You'll have more fun without him on this one.
The show will feature 300 of Dallas' top wedding professionals, a fashion show, the latest trends and upcoming trends, door prizes and giveaways and much more!
