The perfect setting for your modern fairytale.
Vintage weddings are one of the most classic ceremonies and receptions to write about. The intricate details of historic buildings, vastly large meadows, natural materials, neutral-colored fabric and its demure simplicities are what make these weddings so special. In Caroline and Colton's wedding, a blissful environment permeates the air and their love for each other definitely outshine the natural sunlight that can be seen peaking through the reception area. Sugar Bee Sweets, the wedding's pastry chef, provides the wedding's details after the cut.

Last night The Texas Wedding Guide and The Magnolia Hotel hosted Chad Fitzgerald's, of The Cake Guys, "Icing On The Cake" Viewing Party in celebration of his season appearance on TLC's The Next Great Baker. Twenty different versions of magnificent cakes made by Fitzgerald and Edward Navejas were placed throughout the event with attendees salivating at the chance to try them all. Miss Bliss and her sidekick, Mini Bliss, paraded around the event on a severe sugar rush and mingled with Fitzgerald, Navejas and all their endearing family and friends. Although the affair was intimate, the personalities in that room made it grand.

In a room encompassed by a plethora of elaborately well-designed cakes, Chad Fitzgerald’s vivacious personality and admiration for baking eclipses any of the brilliantly bedazzled delicacies you find at The Cake Guys’ new location in Oak Lawn. Fitzgerald and his partner, Edward Navejas, are a couple of the most venerated bakers in their profession. Starting The Cake Guys together at their original location in Duncanville, their culinary reputation and business has elevated their brand to such a degree that TLC’s The Next Great Baker chose Fitzgerald out of thousands of applicants to be on its acclaimed show.
As October comes to an end and November gracefully slides right in to our lives, the colors of gold, auburn, brown and dark green become apparent. Sugar Bee Sweets provided a cake that would rival that of any of its kind. The cake fit the natural and free-spirited theme of Elle and Andrew's wedding. Green flowers, orange lanters and olive branches (historically signifying peace and everlasting friendship) placed throughout the wedding's venue gave it an intimate and organic feel.

With the resurgence of the "green" movement being evident in most areas of our life: emissions, interior design, fashion design, electricity, electronics, food production, water conservation and paper consumption, it has now trickled down to weddings. Of course, when one thinks of an environmentally friendly wedding, they may think it will hinder their ability to have a glamorous and bountiful affair. By changing little things from recycled stationary Save-The-Dates to having a wedding outdoors (to save on electricity), there are many ways a wedding can be a little greener without having to compromise its entire aesthetic.
