The Texas Wedding Guide is beyond excited to announce its new partnership with locally based wedding planner extraordinaire, Donnie Brown of Donnie Brown Weddings and Events!
In an exclusive agreement, Brown will now be a monthly contributor to the Texas Wedding Guide “Miss Bliss” blog, sharing humorous, and sometimes unbelievable, tales from his experiences as a planner over the years, as well as keep readers up-to-date on the latest bridal trends and “must haves.” In addition, he will contribute to the semi-annual print publication by giving readers a sneak peek into some of his most lavish events.

Congratulations, Stardust Celebrations, on your newest bridal gown line: Augusta Jones! They also happen to be the only wedding salon in the state of Texas that carries this designer. Brides, you know you want to go try on these gorgeous creations. Be sure to schedule a consulation for this unique experience.
The first Augusta Jones collection was launched in 1999 under the creative leadership of British designer Charlotte Leung. She needed a line for her own shop to satisfy three basic requirements: beautiful styling; flexibility of the range to flatter a variety of shapes; and affordability.
Her focus was to bring stylish, designer wedding gowns to modern brides. With the success of her initial bridal collection, she was encouraged to launch the range throughout England in September 1999 and then in the US in March 2003. Wanting to offer brides a complete look, she added a range of wedding shoes and very simple, complementing veils. The label is now available in over 150 shops worldwide. (SOURCE www.augustajones.com)
Leung's label is only available in selective shops world-wide.

Paulette Martsolf, owner and designer of Allie-Coosh, provides special occasion wear, including custom designs, for the mother of the bride (MOB) and mother of the groom.
"Allie-Coosh is a place where the mother of the bride or groom can avoid unnecessary wedding stress," said Martsolf. "We off more than 40 fabric custom color options in order to help match her outfit to the wedding theme, if so desired."
Her designs also demonstrate the importantance of versitility in meeting the vision of each of her clients. It's quite remarkable how you change the entire look of an outfit by adding a scarf, shawl or bolero!
Congrats, you're engaged! After all the hugging, tears, laughter, pictures (not to mention the Facebook "official" status change) you now have a 6 - 12 month period (give or take) to plan your wedding. We all know the usual bridesmaid selection, venue shopping, dress hunting, invitation sending comes with the territory - it's all big exciting whirl. But, it's what comes in between all those events that can make or break you, because aside from your normal lunch dates and happy hours, you have your bridal shower, bachelorette party, engagement party, rehearsal dinner and any other social engagements you've picked up in leiu of becoming engaged. And come on, will you seriously be drinking water at all those engagements? No! You'll be partying it up with your girls, friends and family.
And what are most brides concerned about? That's right - fitting into their beautiful wedding gown on one of the biggest moments of their lives. And we all know mixed cocktails and drinks aren't exactly light on the calories or easy on the waistline.
Not to worry, ladies! I come bearing great booz (come on, that was clever...however corny). You don't have to sacrifice partying it up or your waistline. Smartini, whose motto is "We make cheating fun," has created, for your indulgence, several flavored cocktail mixers! For instance, the normal Lemon Drop martini has more than 350 calories, while the Smartini mix only has 82 calories.

Looking for a quick way to get that healthy glow and tan for your wedding day?! XEN-TAN is just the product you and your skin need.
These lotions are much safer for your skin than harmful rays from the tanning bed or sun. Well, you might be thinking, “I don’t like how lotions or sunless tanning leave streaks and stink!”
XEN-TAN has got your sweet self covered. Within each sunless tan product is a deodorizing system that works all day long. These sunless tan lotions aren’t just surface level, but work into your skin for a more natural, blended look that won’t rub off as quickly. Even New York City runway models swear by it. Still don't believe me? Check out these testimonials.

One of our newest clients here at Texas Wedding Guide, Chelsea Rollert, founder and owner of iLove Wedding and Event Design, has had a love for weddings and events since she was a little girl. But even more so, she demonstrates an "iLove the bride" attitude in the way she’s carefully tailored iLove Wedding and Event Design packages in order to be there in whatever way the bride needs her to be.
“I love the special energy that surrounds a couple as they are planning their big day, or the secretive process that goes into planning a proposal,” said Rollert. “Every event has its own special touch, and it is very important to me to provide a sense of trust and dependability so my clients can relax and enjoy the experience.”

In the twilight of the warm Thursday evening, amongst light-hearted laughter, conversation, and refreshments, our Top Five Finalists of our 2012 Cover Model Contest huddled about in the reception room of Beaux Arts Photography Studio.
Texas Wedding Guide (TWG) CEO and Publisher Shannon Streater thanked each girl for their participation and in way of our congratulations, awarded each girl a beautiful plaque of recognition.
Each took a turn to go back into the studio for their test shoot, photographed by Sam Anise, owner, Beaux Arts Photography, and under the expert model coaching of Liz Garrett, owner, John Robert Powers Talent.
At the end of the photo shoot, there were final hugs and congrats exchanged all around, as each girl was sent on her way.
The Texas Wedding Guide team had such a fantastic time hosting the 2012 Top Ten Cover Model Contest Semi-Finalists and their fiancés!
It was a lovely, intimate little affair and entertaining evening of sipping drinks, indulging in delicious lite bites and getting to know these lovely individuals.
As always, it was so hard to narrow it down to our Top Five Finalists. Congratulations again to our Top 10 – you all were splendid and we are so glad you all participated in this competition and made the trek to join us for the reception! We wish every happiness to you and yours, and the best of luck with wedding plans.

If you're anything like me, I'm often at a loss as to what cosmetic items I'll need when I travel. I seem to either pack too many or not enough for the flight. Cosmetics take up a lot of room in a purse. When flying, do you feel by the time you've touched up your makeup before landing, your makeup feels gooey or gunked on - as if your face is going to explode into an acne machine?
Then there's making sure you have the right travel size containers to transport your cosmetic items in. You don't want to make more work for yourself by having to transfer unnecessary items to smaller containers.
These are great need-to-knows about traveling with cosmetics and keeping your face clean, makeup fresh - things especially important on your honeymoon flight. I don't know about you, but I'd definitely would want to look and feel sexy on my honeymoon flight and first night; not to mention the entire trip.
The whole process is not that complicated when you know a couple of facts before you hit the airport.
