We are delighted to once again present Texas-based wedding planner and superstar, Donnie Brown, Donnie Brown Weddings and Events, in his third of many upcoming, monthly contributing columns. You may know him from the popular TV show, “Whose Wedding is it Anyway?”
Well-known for his direct and vivacious personality, he is sure to keep us in stitches with his humorous opinions and sometimes, unbelievable tales from his experiences as a planner over the years. In addition, he will keep readers up-to-date on the latest bridal trends and “must haves.”
Here, in his next column, Donnie gives us a humorous presentation of what kind of brides are out there and a moment of self-examination if you fit into any of these categories.

Just a few cute ways guys proposed with food/drink items. How clever did they get with food? How did your fiance propose to you? We'd love to see photos.

This will wake you up real fast in the morning.

This is one that makes your insides melt.
If you're a guy reading this and you have this strong desire to propose perfectly to your girlfriend, but aren't sure where to start, be sure to contact Chelsea Rollert, owner and event planner, of iLove Wedding & Event Design about her iLove the Perfect Proposal package! Perhaps you’re having a hard time deciding the best way to pop the question and want this to be a memorable (in a good way) night for both of you – a way for you to feel more confident and at ease.
One of our favorite aspects of being a planner is helping the couple creatively express themselves through their wedding. Reception tables can be the ultimate statement of personality. Just like the bride must have the perfect dress, the table décor outfits the reception venue and creates the mood for the entire night. What’s so much fun about reception tables, are that there are endless possibilities and dozens of details that can be incorporated to create the perfect look for the couple. Whatever the theme or mood, reception tables can transform a space from ordinary to extraordinary! Below are just a few of our favorite reception table trends we’ve done recently.
One of the hottest trends right now is the country chic wedding. And for good reason! Soft elegance and rustic charm makes the sweetest of statements on these reception tables.

Photo by Aves Photographic DesignWhy we love it: Nothing says country-cozy quite like burlap. Overlaying burlap on top of a soft, cream linen gives warmth to the whole room. To add femininity and rustic elegance, a lace table runner is the perfect touch. The lace-burlap combination is reminiscent of a charming country home, making guests feel immediately welcomed. The soft pink, blush, and sherbet pops of flowers bring vibrance to the muted centerpieces, in addition to the baby’s breath, which is the quintessential flower of country chic centerpieces. To add a bit of flair to these country-fab tables, the bride placed the table numbers in beautiful metallic frames. Most importantly, these tables reflected the sweet personality of the couple, and gave homage to their southern roots.

We are always looking for inventive, creative, unique ways to make events in our lives memorable. The wedding is the biggest party of a couple's marriage, so it's only right that it be done with great fanfare and planned down to the last personal detail. That's why the photographer is there along with Aunt Suzie, whipping out her camera app on her cell phone for the first time ever.
There are moments when words aren't needed. So is the case with this video shot on Super 8 in black & white film, capturing Meg + Ty's spring wedding at Jonathan Edwards Winery.
Would you do this for your wedding day?
When you combine a breath-taking venue, a lovely bride, a few tablespoons of toadstools, layers of moss, exquisite floral design & charming stationery….you end up with Woodland Wonder. This autumn-esque affair is ethereal, earthy and charming. You can almost taste the apple cider, carmel and all the spices.

Look at those tantalizing, ruby red apples dipped in caramel. Even more fabulous is the assortment of condiments you can roll the caramel apple in. The red fondant on the cake perfectly complements the decor and setting.

The Texas Wedding Guide's special guest blogger, Magic Moments Parties and Events, tells us what charger plates bring to the table:
Having a variety of color and textures is always a great way to add dimension and charisma to any space. When it comes to your tables for your wedding or special event, we often think of the centerpieces and linen as the main focus. One area that is often overlooked and can really make an impact is using specialty charger plates to add that finishing touch.
